Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

The Old Spice Swagger Series is heating up!

It's time to take a quick look at how things are shaping up in the MLG GameBattles Old Spice Swagger Series! As you probably remember, there is over $2500 cash on the line this time around. The Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Fall 2008 Season is getting shorter by the day. Following the conclusion of the regular-season battling, the Top 32 teams will be put into a single-elimination playoff bracket to determine who will take home the winnings.

Something Questionable has taken over the #1 spot on the ladder. They have 156 wins (the most this season) and are currently riding a 10-game winning streak. However, that statistic takes a back seat to MoB Rage IRI's 21-game winning streak, which has helped them leap into 2nd place. At 59-5, they have the least amount of losses in the Top 10. In third place, our MLG Dallas Champions, iCoNz are looking to get back into a groove, having lost 6 of their last 13, immediately following a 19 game winning streak.

Some other teams have made their intentions clear as well: they want to win the prize. EpiDeMiCs has impressed many, going 126 and 42 and catapulting themselves into fourth place. Internationally Known has also entered the picture, placing 15th so far. They boast a solid 42 wins to just 10 losses, not to mention are amidst a 17 game win streak -- a pretty noteworthy improvement. Oh, and just a tip, watch out for these guys: Drama Settaz. They're in 16th place, and are most likely going to make the playoffs if they keep up the pace. They've lost just 5 times in their first 32 matches.

The gap between first place and fifteenth place is less than 2,000 XP, meaning anybody from Something Questionable to the 50th ranked team, Rewritten, who are less than 500 XP out of playoff contention, still has a chance to win. The Fall 2008 Season ends on December 31st, but there are still a lot of battles to be won for all of the teams competing. Good luck in the final few legs of the Old Spice Swagger Series!
