Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

The Old Spice Swagger Series has once again come to a close, this time after crowning a winner in the Halo 3 Summer 2009 Season! The regular season ran from July throughout September with over 8,000 teams registered to compete for the grand prize. After the season, the top 64 ranked teams were seeded into a single-elimination win-or-go-home tournament. Thanks to our friends at Old Spice, a $3,000 grand prize was up for grabs. Finally, a winner has been crowned! GameBattles would like to congratulate the #10 seed Dynasty on their Summer 2009 Halo 3 Championship!

Dynasty finished the regular season undefeated with 24 wins, and was ranked 17th overall. Due to inactivity among higher ranked teams, Dynasty was awarded the #10 overall seed in the playoff tournament. They made quick work of their first two opponents, #55 Ghosts of Peredition and #23 Chokers, by shutting them out with 3-0 victories. It was #7 XPosure that ended the shutout streak -- but not the win streak. Dynasty defeated XPosure 3-1 before repeating the same feat against the #2 ranked Gimme My Money.

In the semi-finals, #6 Believe the Hype took Dynasty to the 5th map and almost earned themselves a spot in the championship. However, Dynasty was able to pull out the win when it mattered most, and earned themselves a date with #1 ranked Nothing Personal. With the championship on the line, the two teams put on another 5-map show. When the dust settled, it was Dynasty that remained standing.

Thanks to Old Spice, Dynasty will take home more than just bragging rights and a Summer 2009 Championship -- $3,000 more! GameBattles would like to thank everyone who competed site-wide throughout the Summer 2009 Season, and invites you all to join us for the Fall 2009 Season! Once again congratulations to team Dynasty, the Halo 3 Summer 2009 Champions!
