It's time again for another Halo 3 Swagger Series update!
The weekend is over, school is starting, and football season is just weeks away. What does all this mean? It's time again for another Halo 3 Swagger Series update! The Summer 2009 Season is just over a month away from completion, and the $3,000 grand prize is beginning to resonate in the minds of all teams competing. However, only 64 teams will qualify for the post season playoff tournament that would allow them a shot at the cash -- meaning a lot of teams are pressuring themselves to try to claim a playoff seed. It's been a few weeks since our last update, so here's a look at how things currently stand.
Mass Effect started the season 52-0 and were able to move into first place last week. However, a recent loss has them on their heels, as their cushion has shrunk to less than 200 XP.
UnKnowN WaRRioRS is the team applying the pressure. With a 124-18 record, and in the midst of a 14 game win streak, it could be just a matter of time before they re-claim the top spot, should Mass Effect falter more. Third place belongs to
Nothing Personal, who are undefeated at 52-0 and about 150 XP behind Unknown Warriors. Two weeks ago, they sat in a 7th place with Mass Effect. Now, both teams are within distance of a #1 finish. Still, you can't count anyone out: #4 ranked
Gimme My Moneyyyy is 43-2 and sits in 4th place thanks to a 15 game and counting win streak. They made the leap past #5
Riot Gear (54-5) over the last week. Once past the top 5, it's a total crapshoot -- only 200 XP separates #5 from #10.
Unknown Warriors has the most wins on the ladder with 124, which is more than double the amount of wins the next team in that category has. Nothing Personal has the longest current streak on the ladder with their 52 straight wins. Number 8 ranked
Infinity has won 36 straight after starting the season 1-1. Oh, and everyone's always wondering about
Str8 Rippin, so here's the scoop:
Tsquared and his crew haven't played since the 4th of August, but are likely preparing for MLG Dallas this weekend. Str8 Rippin is currently ranked #10 with a 32-1 record.
That's it for this week's update. Once MLG Dallas comes and goes, many teams will return focus to the Old Spice Swagger Series -- and that $3,000 grand prize. Halo can be a unpredictable game, and teams often must execute strategies flawlessly in order to come out on top. For that reason, you can never count anybody out. Still, with just more than a month to go in the season, it's hard to imagine that any of the current top teams will fall out of a playoff spot. Only 64 teams will qualify -- make sure to get your games in if you're competing! Check back in a couple weeks for another Old Spice Swagger Series update!
