Welcome to the first Halo 3 update of the season!
Welcome to the first Halo 3 update of the season! With summer in full swing, the Swagger Series is back sponsoring the Halo 3 Summer 2009 Season. Almost 6,000 registered teams are battling it out in hopes of qualifying for the 64-team playoff tournament, and ultimately obtaining the $3,000 grand prize. Already, several teams have dominated the ladder and earned the respect of their competitors, but with the season ending September 31st, anything can still happen.
Join today if you haven't already! Here's a look at the season so far.
Unknown Warriors, a team that finished in the top 5 in the Spring, currently sits atop the standings with a record if 110 wins and 16 losses. Though their win count is impressive, they are less than 50 XP ahead of the #2 ranked team,
Public Enemiez. Public Enemiez has only lost twice in 63 matches, and it may be only a matter of time before they eclipse Unknown Warriors for first place.
Fresh Like Subway is the third place team, trailing second place by roughly 500 XP. They have maintained an impressive 47-4 record and will surely compete for a playoff spot. Fan favorite
Str8 Rippin have lost just one time this season, while winning on thirty-two occasions. They're slightly over 100 XP out of the top 3, and boast an incredible 27 game win streak. Their only loss is to
Mass Effect (more on them later.) Rounding out the top 5 is
Power Rangers, who also have won 32 of 33 matches. They've won 16 straight matches.
The competition doesn't get any easier outside of the top 5. Sixth place
XPosure are undefeated in 31 matches, and are only 100 XP out of 5th place. Seventh place
Nothing Personal, though tied with Mass Effect in XP, has two more wins with a record of 28-0. Mass Effect is also undefeated, at 26-0. The last undefeated team currently in the top 25 is
Classic, who are yet to lose in 20 battles. However, a handful of other teams have lost only once, including #14
Gimme My Money, #15
Infinity, and #16
Live in Color. They are joined on that list by #18
Heads Up, #19
X Rated, and #24
Aluminauty. Just to give further credibility to the competition of this ladder, 16 total teams currently boast win streaks of 10 or more games -- all of them in the Top 75.
The season so far has seen a ton of teams shine, but over the next few weeks we're sure to see some changes. There are far too many good teams sitting just outside of the top 25 ready to make their move, and we'll be here the whole way keeping you up to date on the standings. Be sure to check back in a couple weeks for the next Swagger Series update!
