The first two rounds of the Call of Duty: World at War Spring 2009 Playoffs have completed, and the high seeds have been dominant. The playoffs began with 64 teams last Monday and we're down to just sixteen after Wednesday's action. Round three matches will take place tonight at 9PM EST, while forth round matches will be played on Wednesday. Here's a breakdown of tonight's matches.

The #1 seeded Independence have proven themselves worthy of that rank with decisive wins over New Found Xtreme (#64) and Team LrsD (#32). Their first true challenge may come at the hands of #17 Total Karnage. The #9 seeded Bunch of Bums have disbanded since their second round win over Team Famous. It appears #25 Slappage will get a free pass to the quarter finals. #5 Victory Without Sacrifice will face #21 oRiGiNaL tonight. Both teams are coming off of 3-0 shutout victories. #13 1 Unit defeated #20 Schizophrenia in round two to earn themselves a spot in tonight's match vs. #4 vIIv Gaming. vIIv Gaming will be playing heartbreaker while 1 Unit tries to prove their worth -- it could get interesting.

In the lower half of the bracket, Clan Cleaning Products hopes to continue their dominance from the first two rounds when they play #18 The iFx. The iFx defeated #15 Rewind in the previous round. In a top 10 match-up, #7 HaVoK wil face #10 Exploit. Havok has made it look easy so far in the tournament, but will be facing a strong opponent in Exploit. Exploit did lose one map in their 3-1 win over Dream Gaming, but they've been strong all season long. In the match-up of the only two "Cinderella" teams remaining, #43 Intrinsic will take on #27 Ultimate Runescapers. Intrinsic beat #22 Tru Simplicity and #11 TeRRoR SquaD, while Ultimate Runescapers defeated #38 TH3 and #6 DeZiRe, on their respective routes to tonight's match. #14 VenoM is coming off of a strong 3-1 win over #19 ViolentExistence, but is awaiting the official results of #3 Vizion vs #30 Victory.

So far, the higher seeds have played great and made few mistakes. Eight of the top ten seeds are still alive going into tonight's matches, and in one possible scenario: seven of the final eight contenders could come from the top ten. Only time will tell, but this tournament has been a treat to follow so far. Remember to check the full Playoff Bracket sometime on Tuesday to stay up to date on who will be playing in round four. Expect another update next Monday!
