Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

Call of Duty: World at War is set to release November 11th for both Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. After the success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on both consoles, it should be no surprise that World at War is one of the most anticipated games of the season. Due to a public beta provided for the Xbox 360, GameBattles users were able to get a sneak preview of how competition may pan out once the final game releases.

The team currently ruling the Beta Ladder is DioXiDe. The clan is led by II MALICIOUS and hosts a supporting cast of other well-respected Call of Duty players. DioXiDe is 25 - 3, and holds a significant lead over second place Team Fear's 10-1 record. Two of Team Fear’s wins were against DioXiDe. No LiMiTz is undefeated at 10-0 and holds the third spot on the ladder. There are several other potential contenders, such as Team Vex(9-1), iShock (5-0), and Professional Supremacy (6-0), who have not played as many battles, making it tough to project where they rank among the best.

As for the game itself, you can expect a real beefed up version of Call of Duty 4. It uses the same physics engine as Modern Warfare, meaning the visuals and dynamic elements of the game will be present and continue to impress players. There are plenty of new and improved WWII-era weapons to fill out the armory and create a more diverse field of tactics used. World at War will include game modes from all previous installments of the series -- meaning all avid Call of Duty fans, past or present, will find a gametype they enjoy. Overall, it can be confidently expected that the game will follow suit of its predecessors, becoming one of the most active and engaging titles in the online gaming scene. November 11th is just around the corner, so be sure to keep an eye on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 arenas! Ladders will be opening for registration shortly.
