Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

Welcome to this week's Call of Duty: World at War Playoff update! Over 7,500 teams competed throughout the Summer 2009 Season, 64 of which qualified for the post season playoff tournament. Now, only four teams remain! The semi-final matches will take place tonight at 9PM and the championship match will be held this Wednesday. Now, onto the matchups!

The first matchup pits #1 ranked HaVoK against #4 seeded Clan Cleaning Products! HavoK finished the regular season with a record of 133 wins and 20 losses, while Clan Cleaning Products finished 99-13. Both are very respectable records, and both have been backed up by great performances in the playoffs thus far. Clan Cleaning Products had to overcome some adversity in the previous round against the #5 seeded high Xpectations, where the match went all the way to the tie-breaking 5th map. Meanwhile, HavoK has not only defeated all of their playoff foes so far, but have shut them all out of winning of a map.

In the next match, #3 ranked XceL will take on #2 ranked HeLix. XceL went an impressive 103-13 during the regular season, but HeLix one-upped them, going 103-7. HeLix has already suffered scares of defeat throughout the tournament, going to the 5th map versus both #34 DeToX and #10 SLaaP. XceL, on the other hand, is yet to lose a map during the post-season. Still, that's no indicator of who will win the match.

Both of these matches promise to be intense. As far as predicting a winner for either match goes, it's basically a toss-up. We'll have to wait for them settle it on the battleground, tonight at 9PM. Be sure to check back sometime after Wednesday for an announcement on the winner!
