Welcome to this week's Call of Duty: World at War Summer 2009 Season update! It's September 22nd, and that means just nine more days until the regular season comes to a close. After the season, the Top 64 teams will qualify for the Summer 2009 Playoff Tournament. With just over a week to go, there are still some spots up for grabs! Here's a look at the current standings.
HaVoK has taken over first place, winning 125 matches and losing just 19 times. Nearly 300 XP separates HaVoK from their closest competition,
HeLix. HeLix has won 102 matches and lost only 7 times, and may be able to leap over HaVoK if they continue winning. Last season's champions,
VizioN, have moved into third place thanks to a 6 game winning streak. They now total 102 wins and 11 losses, and will surely have high hopes entering the tournament as a high seed. In 4th place is
high XpectationZ, who have amassed 84 wins with just 13 losses this season. They trail VizioN by over 300 XP. Wrapping up the Top 5 is
Nothing Matters, who have impressed a ton of people this season. They've won 70 matches, including their last 22, and have only lost 3 times all season long. All of the above teams are sure to make a splash in this year's playoff tournament.
Get Pounded have collected by far the most wins on the ladder with 235. However, their 132 losses will likely be enough to hold them out of playoff contention.
Unfortgettable Challenge has the second-most wins with 163. They are ranked 52nd overall, and should make the playoffs if they can add a few more wins over this next week. The longest active win streak on the ladder belongs to
DeToX. DeToX have gone 33-0 this season and right now are ranked 45th. They're going to be taking a lot of momentum in the playoffs if their streak continues.
That's it for this week's look at the Call of Duty 5 Summer Season. Remember, after the regular season ends, the Fall 2009 Season will begin! So if you don't qualify for the playoffs, you better be ready to start over fresh! Check back in a couple weeks -- we'll get you updated on the first few rounds of the playoffs!
