Welcome to another Call of Duty: World at War Summer 2009 Season update!
Welcome to another Call of Duty: World at War Summer 2009 Season update! There's now less than one month remaining in the Regular Season, and there's a lot left to be decided. The battle for #1 is as close as ever and only the Top 64 teams are going to qualify for the post season playoff tournament -- many spots are still up for grabs! Who could ask for more excitement down the stretch? Now, let's get you caught up on the standings.
HeLix has moved into first place thanks to an incredible 31 game winning streak. At 95-5, they've set the standard and proven that they are the team to beat this season. But they aren't in the clear yet -- #2
HaVoK has won 102 matches while losing only 15, and trails HeLix by only 200 XP. HaVoK has won 7 matches in a row, and a couple more could have them in the top spot before our next update. Despite being idle since August 10th, last season's Champions
ViZioN remain in third place with a 95-9 record. Team
Velocirandoms was also inactive since our last update, but hold onto the #4 spot with a 66-5 record.
Victory Without Sacrifice, a strong playoff performer just a season ago, is ranked 5th and could easily leapfrog both ViZioN and Velocirandoms over the next few days should those teams remain inactive.
Summer Playoff Push has the most wins on the ladder with 186. Unfortunately, their 105 losses has them ranked 232nd overall -- far from a playoff spot.
UNFORGETTABLE CHALLENGE, ranked #33, have the most wins among playoff contenders with 138. Surprisingly, the longest active win streak on the ladder does
not belong to HeLix.
Penguins With Mustaches have won 40 straight matches -- 9 more than HeLix -- and are now 47-1, ranked #25. The spread from #1 to #10 is roughly 1,500 XP -- an amount attainable by anyone in a month's time.
There you have it! Plenty of newer teams are starting to establish themselves as powerhouse squads, and have so far faired well against some of the well-known juggernauts. Only time will tell who has what it takes to make the playoffs, and from there it's anybody's ball game. Only a month remains in the season, so check back in a couple weeks for a playoff preview!
