Welcome to the final Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Spring 2009 Playoff update! Yes, you read it right -- final. The playoffs are down to just four teams remaining, with the semi-finals being played tonight and the championship match on Wednesday. It's been a thrill all along, but the last few rounds of playoff action have truly put an exclamation point on the season. Here's a look at our Final Four!
The first matchup of the Call of Duty 4 Semi-Finals places #48
Insanity against #12
EnVyUs. Insanity has been an underdog all tournament long, but a huge upset win over the #1 overall seed
Performance in round three has calmed the critics. Insanity also pulled off a 3-2 victory over
The Dropshot just days after their match with Performance. Envyus, on the other hand, has had a relatively easy path to the semis. After defeating #53 Malice Prepen, #44
Art of Execution, and #28
Automatic Reload, Envyus played their toughest opponent yet: #4 seeded
Verdict. However, the end result was the same: a 3-1 win for Envyus. The two teams are set to square off tonight (7/27) for a ticket to the championship!
Meanwhile, the #54 seed
Sick Minded Soldiers has both surprised and impressed throughout the tournament. Aside from their 3-to-0 first round victory over #11
tRx, Sick Minded has squeezed past opponents by the slimmest of margins, with 3-to-2 wins over #22

ZeRo. Now, Sick Minded Soldiers most pull off their biggest upset yet in order to move on to the finals -- they'll play the #2 seed
FeaR in the semi-finals. FeaR has proven that they're still one of the most dangerous teams in the world. They haven't really been in any danger of losing a match yet, winning in shutout fashion over
Blood Line,
Team AVP, and
Brotherhood before beating
Questionable Trio in the previous round. The teams will play their semi-final match tonight at 9PM EST.
Both semi-final matches are sure to be exciting, as they each feature a heavyweight team defending their honor and chances at a championship against a surprise underdog hoping to do the unthinkable. The winners of tonight's matches will play for the Call of Duty 4 Spring 2009 Championship on Wednesday, July 29th.
