Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

Welcome to another Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare Spring 2009 Playoff update! It's been one week since the playoffs began, and after Wednesday's round two action, only 16 teams remain. Round three begins tonight, with matches starting at 9 PM EST. Winners will advance to the fourth round, which is set to take place on Wednesday. Here's a preview of tonight's matches.

While it's no surprise that the #1 seed PerForManCe is still around, their opponent may be a little unexpected. Insanity, the #48 seed, defeated #17 PRODIGIES and #16 High Hopes en route to their matchup with Performance. Both teams advanced rather easily with 3-0 shutout wins in rounds one and two. The #8 seed Gaming Addicts are set to play #41 Black People. Both teams are also undefeated throughout the tournament so far. Automatic Reload, the #28 seed, will surely have their hands full when playing their next opponent: #12 EnVyUs. Envyus brings a strong veteran advantage, but you can't count out Automatic Reload, who finished the regular season 98-11 and just defeated #5 Paranoia. #4 Verdict is still awaiting the result of RaDaR NuBs vs The Gauntlet to determine who their round three opponent will be.

Meanwhile, in the bottom half of the bracket, #2 FeaR made quick work of their first two opponents, winning each match in 3-0 fashion. They'll play #15 BrotherHood tonight. #26 Questionable Trio defeated #7 Team Violent in round two, and now must face #23 Authentic. Authentic defeated #10 Four Deep in the last round to advance. #6 Sideways has cruised so far, but better be careful in their upcoming match with Sick Minded. Sick Minded entered as the #54 seed and has defeated #11 tR x Remake and #22 Lets Start Uh Riot. In the final matchup, #3 ZeRo will face #14 Primetime. Both teams are yet to lose a single map in the tournament so far.

The tournament so far has been a thrill. There have been a few upsets along the way, and some surprise teams are heading into tonight's matchups with a chance to reach the quarter-finals. However, other veteran teams, including six of the top ten seeds, will be looking to shut them down. Be sure to check out the Playoff Bracket sometime on Tuesday to find the results and see who will be playing on Wednesday. Check back next week to find out which teams make the final four!
