Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

The Call of Duty 4 Summer 2009 Playoffs are rolling right along! We are now entering the fourth round of play, and in just a few short weeks the 64-team field has been reduced to just 8. Of those eight remaining teams, three are ranked within the Top 10. This round's matches are set to begin Wednesday the 14th at 9PM EST.

The #1 ranked EnVyUs finished the regular season with 135 wins and just 8 losses, and has so far sailed pretty smoothly in the playoff tournament. With wins over The Hulkamaniacs (#64), Above Standards (#33), and Expensive Habitz (#17), EnVyUs now must face their most worthy opponent yet: #9 ranked Equinox. Beating Equinox will be no walk in the park -- they finished the season 83-5 and have not lost a map so far in these playoffs. In the next bracket down is perhaps one of the most-hyped up teams in the competition: #5 FeaR Clan. FeaR finished the season 98-1 and has also won all nine maps played in this tournament so far. They'll play the #45 seeded VizuaL in Wednesday's match. VizuaL were able to put together a decent season, finishing with 56 wins and 11 losses -- but the advantage has to go to FeaR.

In the lower half of the bracket, #35 ranked Professional Supremacy will take on #11 ranked Evil. Professional Supremacy went 86-21 in the regular season, while Evil finished 88-9. Both squads are in their inaugural seasons as a team; so nobody has the experience advantage. This should be a close matchup. Meanwhile, Team Replay, the #39 ranked team who finished the Summer Season with a 57-8 record, is still waiting for an opponent. The third round match between #15 aD Rush and #2 Team Violent was disputed and is currently being reviewed by GameBattles administration. A decision will be made by Wednesday.

That's it for this week's Call of Duty 4 Summer 2009 Playoff update! As you can see, Wednesday has a full plate of match-ups waiting to be decided -- so be sure to check the bracket Wednesday night or Thursday morning if you're following along. It's sure to be an exciting conclusion to the playoffs, so check back often for more information in the coming weeks!
