Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

Welcome to another Call of Duty 4 Summer Season Update!

Welcome to another Call of Duty 4 Summer Season Update! It's been a few weeks since our last update, and although the top portion of the standings looks a little different, the high level of competition remains intact! In fact, the Top 10 teams on the ladder have accumulated 1,029 wins with only 58 total losses. How's that for a statistic? Here's how the competition stacks up today.

Last season's champions, Team EnVyUs, have reclaimed their throne atop the standings, winning 132 matches and losing only 8. However, their lead is slim -- second place Team Violent Apprehension has won 14 straight games since losing to Zero Friction in mid-August. The win streak has given Team Violent Apprehension a total of 110 wins with just 1 loss all season, and has them just over 100XP out of first place. Team FeaR, formerly 98-0, suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday at the hands of eXcellence (40-2, #56). Still, Team FeaR has a solid grip on third place. ZeRo has remained inactive since our last update, but a 90-5 record is good enough for 4th place should the team start playing again before the playoffs begin. And finally, ViciouS holds 5th place with a 109-10 record and 20 more XP than 6th place Verdict.

Surprisingly, EnVyUs's 132 wins is not the highest amount on the ladder. That award belongs to Friends or Enemies, who have accumulated exactly 200 wins. Of course, their 62 additional matches that resulted in losses have them sitting outside of the Top 50, but if the season ended today, they'd still be in a playoff position. Forty-third ranked MERCENARIES OF HONOR have the longest active win streak at 62 -- thanks to eXcellence defeating Team FeaR earlier this week.

Keep in mind that the Summer 2009 Season ends September 30th, at which point the Top 64 teams will be sorted into a playoff bracket. After a few weeks of win-or-go-home playoff excitement, a champion will be crowned! So keep your eyes on the Call of Duty 4 Standings, and be sure to check back in a few weeks as we get set to begin the playoff tournament!
