An update on the Road Runner Sponsored Fall Season Ladders!
By now, I'm sure you've all heard of the
Super Smash Bros Brawl, brought to you by GameBattles and RoadRunner Highspeed Internet. (If not, you can find all the details
here.) With that said, the Fall '08 season so far has been extremely competitive. Over 1,000 players have been brawling it out on the singles ladder, while over 800 players have teamed up on the doubles ladder. The Fall '08 season runs until the new year, and while the weather outside grows cold, things will only heat up on Gamebattles as time passes!
So far on the singles ladder, we've seen a ton of matches played and some very impressive records. Our current first place holder,
JudgeMeow, has participated in 89 duels, coming out on top 85 times – a .955 win percentage. If that's not impressive enough for you, how about
Ally's undefeated 30-0 record, or
MajorGamer5's current league-high 31-game win streak? Summer Season playoff finalist
(8)-Teen also continues to impress, netting 50 wins and sitting in 10th place.
No, Ness is a Problem is in 14th place, but has by far the most wins on the ladder through the first month of the season.
As for the doubles ladder,
Allisbrawl's Finest is undefeated at 33-0 and is currently atop the standings. The Summer '08 champions,
Burnt Lobstaz, are sitting pretty in 4th place with a 23-4 record. Barring a complete collapse, they'll be looking at their second straight playoff bid and a chance to repeat.
Team Smash has recorded 53 wins, the most on the ladder, and is in second place. They'll be looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss in the semi-finals of the Summer '08 playoffs.
As you can see, there is a ton of great talent on these ladders. When it comes to predicting a winner, it's a total toss-up. At any given time, a player or team can go on a streak and propel themselves into a playoff position. Once there, the possibilities are endless. With over $7,500 in prize money on the line, why not give it your all? As we saw in last season's Singles Ladder playoffs, in which none of the final four players were ranked within the top 10, everybody has a chance to win!
