Welcome to this week's Super Smash Bros Brawl Playoff Update, sponsored by BIC Comfort 3 Advance Shavers! The playoff tournament is well under-way, already entering its fourth round of play. Because it follows double-elimination format, teams that lose are moved to the Loser's Bracket and have a chance to redeem themselves by beating out the other losing squad to earn another shot at the championship. Expect to have a winner determined sometime in November.

As for the bracket itself -- here's how the Winner's Bracket breaks down. The #49 seed Sally will face off against #8 Greed tonight. Sally recorded 27 wins and 4 losses in the season, while Greed finished 71-7. The next match features #12 ImSoSlick vs. #45 OOK. ImSoSlick finished the regular season with a 53-7 record, and are the defending Spring 2009 Champions. OOK only played 17 matches, but won 15 of them.

Further down in the bracket is a somewhat surprising matchup that pits veterans Dabuz (#30, Winter 09 Champion) and Jumpman (#6, Spring 08 Champion) going head to head for the right to move on. Dabuz went 25-1 during the regular season, while Jumpman went 62-0. That could truly be a classic matchup. However, the winner of that matchup will take on the winner of #23 Kira vs. #18 TSP. Kira finished the season 59-11, but TSP's 50-9 record was worth more XP and earned him a slightly higher seed in the playoffs.

The Loser's Bracket is progressing well, and higher seeds such as #3 Likang2 and #5 Cruxiz will be looking to take advantage of their second chance. Additionally, the #1 seeded Triple R will face the #2 seed Dont Get Salty in the Loser's Bracket tonight. By tomorrow, only two of the Top 5 seeds will remain -- both in the Loser's Bracket!
