Winter 2010 Closing Procedures
The following outlines the policies and procedures that apply to all non Pro Circuit, EASC, and sponsored non seasonal ladders on GameBattles. It is very important that you read and understand the following if you are planning to participate in the upcoming season and/or the current Winter 2010 season playoffs.

The Winter Season 2010 ends on March 31st, 2010 at 9:00PM EST. Shortly thereafter, the Spring Season 2010 will be launched site wide and you will immediately be able to play in the new season. All of your team's historical stats, roster and information carries over. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CREATE A NEW TEAM. However, you will still need to enroll your team in the new season.

For those interested in the playoffs:
  • The Official Roster Lock Date is Monday, March 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM EST.
  • Roster changes including invites, gamertag and role changes will be prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS, after this time.
  • Any player that is updated after the Roster Lock Date is ineligible for playoffs.
  • Your team must have played a minimum of 5 matches in the month of March to be eligible for Playoffs.
  • Minimum roster sizes per Ladder for your arena are posted below.
  • Teams created after the Roster Lock Date are not affected; however, they are also ineligible for playoffs.
  • Playoff Bracket sizes are also posted below.
Note: Playoffs are being ran on the main ladder of each game only and some doubles ladders. Meaning, team based games such as Call of Duty will receive a playoff for the Team Ladders. If you are a participant on a ladder that is not considered the main ladder for the game you play on or one of the few doubles ladders, the first place team at the end of the season will be considered the season champion and will receive an achievement.

Within the next 15 days, we will be releasing Playoff Rules and Settings along with Gametypes that will be used in Playoff Matches. Each playoff round will have predetermined gametypes that each team will have to play. Those specific gametypes will be released prior to the end of the season.

The bracket sizes and minimum number of required players, in detail, can be found here. If your team does not meet these requirements, your team will not be eligible to be seeded into the Playoff Brackets.

If teams cannot agree on the number of players in a match, the minimum number of required players will be used.

Remember, there are only limited playoff spots available, so get your final roster together and start battling!

Welcome to this week's Super Smash Bros. Brawl update!

Welcome to this week's Super Smash Bros. Brawl update! With MLG Dallas in the rearview mirror, full focus is on the GameBattles Summer 2009 Season! With less than a month to play, things are getting interesting among the top teams. Thanks to BIC and their Comfort 3® Advance® Shavers, a $5,000 prize pool awaits the season winners. The top 64 ranked teams at the conclusion of the season will be sorted into a double-elimination bracket to determine a champion -- and it's free to register! Now, let's get caught up on the action over the last few weeks!

After a strong week, Triple R (166-34) has captured first place and has won five in a row to help cling onto a slim lead of only 20XP. Don't Get Salty, the #2 ranked player, has gone 25-1 since our last update and is riding a nine game win streak. Leon X (formerly #1) has fallen to third place, and a three game losing streak has him in danger of missing the podium. However, with a record of 149 wins and just 21 losses, it would take a significant losing streak for that to happen. Number four Likang2 (68-3) has impressed this season but trails third place by almost 500 XP, and InsaneInDaMembrain (71-6) has won 10 straight to move into the Top 5.

Meanwhile, #21 ranked Boku still has the most wins on the ladder with 201. Despite also having the most losses among the Top 50 ranked players, Boku is en route to a playoff position. Fan favorite Jumpman has moved into 7th place after winning seven matches over the last couple weeks. He is still undefeated, now at 57-0. Aside from him, ImSoSlick has the longest active win streak on the ladder: 27 games.

If you've been following the action this season, then you're probably a little shocked at how much the top ranks have changed. Every few days someone new is making a run towards the top! Still, remember that it's not just the top ranked players that make playoffs -- there's still plenty of time for anyone, even new players, to move into the Top 64! Be sure to register if you haven't already, and check back next week for another update!
