Three (3) Runner up prize sets shall be awarded. The trip will include (i) roundtrip coach class air transportation for the runner up prize winner and one (1) guest which shall originate from an airport of THQ’s choice nearest the runner up prize winner’s residence (as determined by THQ). - A player has 15 minutes to show-up and be ready to start the match. If a player does not show up in the first 15 minutes, the opposing player can report a forfeit, thus the late player will lose the match.
- "Glitching" and abusing the In-Game mechanics in ANY way is not tolerated. Our goal is to give the online gaming community a place to compete with others and we will not allow cheaters to get in the way of that goal.
- You need to show proof of winning each match to be given the win for it. All proof must contain the in game full scoreboard (showing clearly) at some point during that match, with both team's players to be considered valid.
- Both teams are responsible for reporting the win / loss within 30 minutes of the completed match.
- For a match to be official, the challenge must be accepted in the match scheduler.
- Any player participating in a match must be on the roster for at least 12 hours and can't be updated within the past 12 hours prior to the match start time indicated in the accepted match settings.
- All roster spots must be comprised of only one valid gamertag. Spelling and spaces must be exact, but is not case sensitive
Tournament format:

February 8th Top 32 players from the Ladder are seeded into an online tournament bracket that will be completed by February 22nd.
The following rounds will take place online for each of the 3 regions (North America, Continental Europe and United Kingdom):
Online Tournament Play - Round 1 - February 9th through 11th. Winners from Round 1 will move on to Round 2.
Online Tournament Play - Round 2 – February 12th through 14th. Winners from Round 2 will move on to Round 3.
Online Tournament Play – Round 3 – February 15th through 17th. Winners of Round 3 will move on to the live Regional Finals.
Online tournament play will finalize 4 winners in each of the 3 regions.
Live Regional Tournament Play – The 4 winners of each of the 3 regional online tournaments will compete in their respective region’s live Regional Finals. The live Regional Finals will take place on dates to be announced between February 22, 2008 and March 10, 2008 at the locations below (“Regional Locations”):
North America shall include the countries of Canada and United States. North American Tournament finals will take place in San Jose, California. Exact location is to be determined. Location and event details will be e-mailed to the finalists.
United Kingdom shall include the countries of Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. Tournament finals for the UK territory will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland. Exact location is to be determined. Location and event details will be e-mailed to the finalists.
Continental Europe shall include the countries of Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. The Tournament finals for Continental Europe will take place in Stuttgart, Germany. Exact location is to be determined. Location and event details will be e-mailed to the finalists.
Winners will be contacted via the e-mail address provided at the time of registration, to compete in live event where the 4 winners from each of the above 3 regions are flown to a local GameStop/EB Games store (or other TBD location) for the regional finals. Two (2) winners from the North American region, one (1) winner from the United Kingdom region and one (1) winner from the Continental European region will then be flown to compete at the SuperStar Challenge finals on March 27, 2008 in Orlando, Florida (WrestleMania weekend) to decide the World Champion.
The trip to the regional finals shall include (i) roundtrip coach class air transportation for the finalist and one (1) guest which shall originate from an airport of THQ’s choice nearest the finalist’s residence (as determined by THQ). THQ reserves the right to substitute ground transportation for air transportation if the finalist resides within 90 miles of Regional Location. (ii) round trip ground transportation for the finalist and one (1) guest (to be taken together) between the airport and the hotel in the respective Regional Location, (iii) one (1) night hotel accommodation in the respective Regional Location, for the finalist and one (1) guest which shall be one (1) room based on double occupancy (meals, telephone calls, tips and other incidentals and costs are not included). Choice of hotel shall be at THQ’s discretion. Spending money, meals and all other expenses the finalist and guest may incur while in the Regional Location and travelling to and from the Regional Location is the sole responsibility of the finalist and guest. GENERAL ONLINE LADDER/TOURNAMENT RULES
Major League Gaming, Inc. (“Major League Gaming” or “MLG” or “Sponsor”) will conduct online tournaments (each a “Tournament”) in accordance with these official rules, unless otherwise indicated. By participating in a Tournament, each participant agrees to abide by these rules and decisions of judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
GENERAL
- It is the responsibility of all users of this ladder to know and understand the rules before accepting a challenge or playing in a match.
- By sending or accepting a challenge in the challenge system, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the rules posted here which include posting or accepting challenges in Match Finder.
- Our goal here at GameBattles is to provide gamers with a place to find fun and competitive battles. In order to accomplish this goal, we will not tolerate players or teams with an unsportsmanlike demeanor attempting to destroy the friendly atmosphere we are trying to create. Violators of this rule will be dealt with accordingly. Intentional abuse of a rule to use any rule against another player to secure a win will warrant action from GB staff.
- No XP will be awarded for playing a team 10 levels above or below the level of your team.
- Gamebattles prohibits members from creating or managing more than one active username on a ladder from the same household.
- Staff abuse will not be tolerated in any form, be it messaging, forums, or tickets. Situations such as this will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
- Verbally abusing other players is unacceptable. This includes but not limited to the use of foul or degrading language on this ladder. If you are unable to be respectful to any player, team or GameBattles staff, you and or your team risk warnings up to removal from this ladder.

1. Description of Tournament/Participation.
A. Dates of Tournament: The online ladder portion of this tournament will be conducted beginning on[January 1, 2008, and ending on February 8, 2008. Registrations for the online ladder portion of this tournament will begin on December 8, 2007, and end on February 8, 2008. The bracketed online tournament portion of this tournament will be conducted beginning on February 9, 2008, and ending on February 22, 2008. Participants must first register for the online ladder portion of this tournament in order to be eligible to qualify for the bracketed online tournament portion of this tournament.
B. How to Enter: You must be an active and registered member of the GameBattles.com site (the “GameBattles Site”) to enter. You may register for the Tournament by logging on to the GameBattles Site and completing the free on-line registration form at http://my.gamebattles.com/signup. Please provide a valid e-mail address, as e-mail will be the primary method of contact . Tournament registration is on a first come first serve basis and is open until all applicable Tournament spots are filled. One entry per person per Tournament. Valid Tournament entries must contain all information requested. Incomplete and/or multiple entries will be disqualified. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected or incomplete entries
C. How to Play: The online ladder portion of the Tournament will be an open challenge system and participants are required to schedule their own games. The top 32 players from the ladder will be seeded into a single elimination bracketed tournament. All participants are required to schedule their own games (within the allotted times inside the “Challenge System” of the tournament on www.gamebattles.com) based on the applicable Tournament bracket. All Tournament games must be played under the rules set forth for each individual Tournament. Participants will need an Xbox 360, the “WWE: Smackdown vs. Raw 2008” game and an Xbox Live account to participate. Xbox Live is a subscription fee based service. A subscription is required to participate in the Tournament.

The prize(s) that may be awarded to the eligible winner(s) is limit one prize package per winner. A description of the prizes, if any, will be provided for each individual Tournament.
Prizes are non-transferable and not exchangeable for any other prize. In the case of unavailability of prize, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All taxes, gratuities and unspecified expenses are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner assumes all liability for use of the prize.
Winners will be notified by e-mail and/or posted on the GameBattles Site approximately two (2) days after the end of the Tournament. Winner may be required to sign and return, within two (2) days of receipt of notification, an Affidavit of Eligibility and liability/publicity release prior to receipt of prize and tax forms. If a winner cannot be contacted within two (2) days of first notification attempt, if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these Official rules and requirements, such prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate, in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
3. Eligibility and Limitations. All participants must be legal residents of the region (North America, Continental Europe or United Kingdom) of the respective regional tournament (North America, Continental Europe or United Kingdom) that the participant wishes to enter and at least 18-years old as of date of entry. Children under 18 are not permitted to register for this Tournament. In Alabama and Nebraska where a minor is under 19 years old at the time of entry must sign a release on behalf of the minor to be eligible to receive a prize. If a minor wins a prize, the prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian who signed the release. Only one (1) prize per household per Tournament. Participants must have a valid passport and obtain the proper travel VISA if required (“Travel Documents”). These Travel Documents will be obtained by the participant at their sole expense. Neither Sponsor, THQ nor WWE will be responsible for assisting the participants with obtaining these documents. Employees of the Sponsor, THQ Inc., World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., ., GameStop, Inc., the Tournament's participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win.
4. Conditions.
Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by users of the Site or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized on the Site or in any Tournament or by any technical or human error, which may occur in the processing of registrations, entries into any Tournament, or otherwise in connection with any Tournament including, without limitation, any technical limitation or other event that results in the disqualification or loss of ranking status of any participant in any Tournament. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, or communications line failure relating to the Site or any Tournament, or for any theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, any registration materials or entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone, network, satellite, cable or lines, computer, on-line-systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail, registrations or entry submissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or combination thereof in connection with the Site or any Tournament, including, without limitation, any technical limitation or other event that results in the disqualification or loss of ranking status of any Player in any Game. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating, downloading or uploading materials from the Site or in connection with any Tournament. Any use of robotic, automatic, micro, programmed or like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods, and disqualify any person using such methods. If, for any reason, any Tournament, in Sponsor's sole opinion, is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which, in the Sponsor's sole judgment, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of any Tournament, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Tournament and proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
IN NO EVENT WILL SPONSOR, ITS PARENTS, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, SUPPLIERS, AND RELATED COMPANIES, ITS SPONSORS, ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES OR PARTNERS (INCLUDING THQ INC. 5. Publicity.
By participating, all participants and winner(s) grant Sponsor, THQ Inc. and World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. permission to use their names, nick-names, gamer-tags, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other Tournaments, in perpetuity, throughout the world, and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use, except where prohibited.
6. Release.
By participating, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against the Sponsor, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, subsidiaries, suppliers, and related companies, its sponsors, adverting and promotion agencies and partners (including THQ Inc., World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. and GameStop, Inc.),), and any of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents , from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense, including without limitation property damages, personal injury and/or death, arising out of participation in any Tournament or the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize. If any part of these Official Rules shall be held or declared to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason by any court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be ineffective but shall not affect any other part of these Official Rules and the invalid portion of any provision shall be deemed modified to the least degree necessary to remedy such invalidity while retaining the original intent of the parties. The failure of Sponsor to partially or fully exercise any rights or the waiver by Sponsor of any breach of these Official Rules by you, shall not prevent a subsequent exercise of such right by Sponsor or be deemed a waiver by Sponsor of any subsequent breach by you of the same or any other term of these Official Rules. The rights and remedies of Sponsor under these Official Rules shall be cumulative, and the exercise of any right or remedy shall not limit a right to exercise any other right or remedy hereunder.
In case of dispute, entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of registration. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access Provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
7. Taxes.
Each winner is solely responsible for any and all applicable taxes. Sponsor is not responsible for any unspecified expenses which shall be the responsibility of winners. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from the Sponsor will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.
8. Conduct and Decisions.
By participating in the Tournament, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor, Judges and Sponsor’ personnel. Participants must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to competitors, Tournament officials, and to other participants of the Tournament. Participants who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Tournament, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. Sponsor will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the Tournament and the Sponsor's decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the Tournament is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of the Sponsor, the Company reserves the right to terminate this Tournament, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as the Sponsor deems appropriate. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds (a) to be tampering with the registration or entry process or the operation of the Site or any Tournament; (b) be acting in violation of these Official Rules; (c) to be hacking, or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person; or (d) to have provided any false or misleading information as part of the registration process including, without limitation, any false names, addresses or e-mail addresses. All decisions will be made by the Sponsor and are final. ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY CIRCUMVENT, DISRUPT OR DAMAGE ORDINARY AND NORMAL OPERATION OF THIS TOURNAMENT, TELEPHONE SYSTEMS OR WEBSITE, OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE TOURNAMENT IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPATE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Miscellaneous.
If for any reason, any Tournament, in Sponsor's sole opinion, is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which, in the Sponsor's sole judgment, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of any Tournament, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Tournament and proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
10. Arbitration and Governing Law Any controversy, claim or dispute arising out of or relating to this Tournament shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Rules including Emergency Interim Relief Procedure in New York, New York, except that, to the extent any participant, winner or guest has in any manner violated or threatened to violate Sponsor’s intellectual property or confidentiality rights, Sponsor may seek injunctive, monetary or other appropriate relief in any state or federal court in the state of New York (and Sponsor may assert both intellectual property causes of action and other appropriate causes of action in any such action), and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts. The arbitrator's award shall be binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement shall be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
11. Use of Data. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about participants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at http://www.gamebattles.com/privacy.php. By participating in a Tournament, participants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
12. Rules and List of Winners: For a copy of the rules, or a list of winners, please send your request within thirty (30) days of the end of the Tournament by mail with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope with Tournament name and addressed to: Major League Gaming c/o GameBattles Tournaments, 420 Lexington Ave, Suite 2820, New York, NY 10170.
