After two months of exciting head-to-head competition on the MLB: 09 The Show All-Star Championship Ladder, a winner has been crowned! At the beginning of August, the All-Star Championship competition began with over 1,400 teams competing. At the end of the month, the Top 128 ranked players were seeded into a single-elimination tournament, which took place throughout September. Finally, GameBattles is pleased to announce the winner! Congratulations to our All-Star Champion: Good Luck!

Good Luck finished the regular season with a record of 46 wins and just 6 losses. While impressive, his 46 wins were roughly only half of the amount other competitors had. In one sense, this allowed him to fly under the radar. Mementomori3 (#1) and KC's Finest (#2) were considered favorites to win the tournament from start, finishing the season 98-24 and 72-11, respectively. Still, Good Luck's 46 wins were the least in the Top 10 -- meaning he had to beat higher ranked players to earn his position.

Regardless of how he was perceived going into the tournament, Good Luck proved his worth throughout. Starting as the #5 seed, he faced #124 THREESPOOGES, #60 Pujols4MVP, #92 Goosers Bombers, and #76 ronsicecream before facing a real strong opponent. It was #20 ranked Mr. Johan Santana that Good Luck defeated to advance to the semi-finals, where he continued his winning ways vs Th3xNik3King, the #24 ranked player. His greatest competition came in the championship game -- vs. No. 6 ranked IAmTheShow. In a rather one-sided affair, Good Luck defeated IAmTheShow to earn the championship and $10,000 in cash! Now that's not bad for a couple months on the Playstation! Once again, congratulations to Good Luck!
