Welcome to the final GameBattles Sports Update of the season!
Welcome to the final GameBattles Sports Update of the season! After today, the Summer 2009 season will officially come to a close, and the playoff brackets will be determined site-wide (for games hosting playoffs). Before that happens, let's take a final look at the Fight Night Round 4 standings, followed by some details on the winner of the MLB 09: The Show All-Star Championship Ladder, and finally a Madden NFL 10 update! Let's jump right in.
Not a whole lot has changed since our last update on the Fight Night Round 4 Ladder. However, here are the final standings.
MeanMachine finished in first place, having won 70 matches and lost just 18. Unless he plays a match this evening, he will end on a 22 game winning streak.
Team PINTO will likely close out the season in second place. PINTO went an impressive 30-3 this season, and also ends the season on a winning streak, his of 13 games.
A-M- will finish in third place at 15-0. Even though he didn't play nearly as many matches as MeanMachine or PINTO, he deserves some serious props. Fifteen-and-zero is no walk in the park.
GET SMACKED will finish in 4th place with a 17-6 record, and
Lukester will come in at #5 with a 17-4 record.
Then, as many of you have probably read,
Good Luck has won the MLB:09 The Show All-Star Championship Ladder! The playoff tournament concluded last Thursday as Good Luck defeated
I am The Show in the Championship game. Good Luck has earned himself $10,000 in cash as a reward! GameBattles would like to thank all the players who participated and helped to make this tournament successful, and would also like to once again congratulate Good Luck on his victory.
Meanwhile, on the Madden NFL 10 Ladder,
Oakland Blazers in 2010 has held on to his #1 position over the last week. With a 62-12 record, Oakland Blazers leads #2 ranked
JIGG NATION (68-14) by about 300 XP. However, he's got problems of his own, as #3 ranked
Big Vanilla EarthQuake (50-7) has used a 12 game win streak to climb within 21 XP of JIGG. And it only gets closer from there:
Camp 8, at 50-7, only trails EarthQuake by 8 XP. It's not until the gap between Camp 8 and 5th place
LAB2SICK that we see a significant drop off, as LAB2SICK trails Camp 8 by over 500 XP. The Top 4 have alternated taking over the #1 seed, but only one can clinch it come playoff time. Fortunately for Madden fans, there's still a ton of time before the playoffs come around. Because Madden NFL 10 was released late into the Summer 2009 Season, its playoff tournament will not begin until the end of the Fall 2009 Season on December 31st.
