Welcome to this week's GameBattles Sports Update! It's time once again to check in on the competition on the Fight Night Round 4 and Madden NFL 10 ladders, as well as the MLB 09: The Show All Star Championship Ladder! Less than a month remains in the Summer 2009 Season, meaning Madden and Fight Night Round 4 participants only have a few weeks to clinch a playoff spot. Meanwhile, 128 teams have qualified for the MLB 09: The Show All Star Challenge Playoffs, set to begin on Thursday. Here's a quick look at the standings so far.

On the gridiron, LeGeNdZ has taken over the #1 spot with a record of 39-6. Last week's #1, Oakland Blazers in 2010 is now 44-10 and only 13 XP behind LeGeNdZ. Camp 8, 39-7, has won two in a row and is clinging onto third place, while BL4CK H0L3 is only a few wins outside of the podium, trailing by less than 100 XP. Respect My Defense is the current #5 with a record of 77-22.

Meanwhile, in the ring, much has remained the same over the last few weeks. Team PINTO is atop the standings with a record of 27 wins and 3 losses, including a 10 match winning streak. MeanMachine, the #2 ranked player, is 60-18 has won 12 games in a row. For a second straight week, the rest of the Top 5 stands status quo: sYntrofia.Lukester at #3, GET SMACKED at #4, and PROTECT YA NECK at #5.

Finally, onto the MLB 09: The Show All Star Championship Ladder! The regular season portion of the ladder has concluded, and playoffs will begin Thursday, September 3rd. Mementomori3 has captured the #1 overall seed and will play #128 Thunderstruck in the first round. KC's Finest finished at #2 and is on a 5 gaming winning streak entering the playoffs. The rest of the Top 5 ranks as follows: #3 LincCityCarolines (110-26), #4 SuperMario (81-16), and #5 Good Luck (46-6). LinCityCarolines' 110 wins were the most on the ladder, and the longest winning streak going into the playoffs belongs to #20 Mr. Johan Santana, who went 27-0 this season.
