Welcome to another GameBattles Sports Arena Update!
Welcome to another GameBattles Sports Arena Update! By this time next week, teams will have less than a month remaining the Summer 2009 Season. That's less than 30 days for players and teams on Madden NFL 10 and Fight Night Round 4 to establish themselves as playoff contenders, if they haven't already. However, the MLB 09: The Show All-Star Championship Ladder ends in just 5 days; so let's get started with that.
LincCityCarolines has climbed into first place, passing both
KC's Finest and
Squall Digga in the process. LincCityCarolines is 87-16 this season and is on a 10 game winning streak, giving him a lead of more than 500 XP on second place KC's Finest. KC's Finest, 58-6, remains in second place despite a recent loss to end a 13 game win streak. Last week's #1 ranked team, Squall Digga, has fallen into third place -- even though he is on a 16 game winning streak.
SuperMario comes in at #4 with a record of 62-12, and
I am The Show has quietly moved into the Top 5 with 69 wins and 27 losses.
Krazy 8s, last week's #3 ranked team, has fallen out of the Top 10 after going 17-7 over the last week. The All-Star Championship Ladder ends August 31st, and these are just a few of the teams you can expect to see in the 128 team playoff tournament coming up!
Meanwhile, on the Madden NFL 10 Ladder,
Big Vanilla earthquake has fallen from #1 last week to #6 today. However, he is on a 15 game winning streak, and should not view the last week as a disappointment.
Camp 8 is the new #1 with a record of 33-6. His 2,001 XP is nearly 200 more than the second place player,
Respect My Defense (61-17, 1,884 XP).
Oakland Blazers in 2010 remains in the Top 5, now sitting third overall with a 39-9 record.
Black Hole was also able to hold onto his #4 position over the last week, and has won 10 straight games giving him a 30-5 record. Rounding out the Top 5 is
Green Bay, WI, who is 28-5 and on a 9 game winning streak. However, less than 1,000 XP separates first place from tenth -- the top half of this ladder is incredibly competitive.
In the ring, on the Fight Night Round 4 Arena, players are taking their corners and getting ready to fight it out down the stretch.
Team PINTO is still the overall leader with a 27-3 record, but
MeanMachine is still gaining ground. A 4 game win streak has MeanMachine less than 400 XP behind PINTO. The remainder of the Top 5 players were idle last week:
sYntrofia.Lukester at #3,
GET SMACKED at #4, and
PROTECT YA NECK at #5. Their inactivity has created a great opportunity for up and coming players such as #8
YORTTROY (6-0) and #9
W-M K.O. (7-0) to climb ahead in ranks.
The MLB 09: The Show All-Star Championship playoffs will begin next week, with the top 128 ranked players participating in a single elimination tournament to determine a champion. As for the other arenas: with just over a month remaining in the Summer Season, things are still too close to call. Let's see what happens over the next few weeks as the season begins to wind down. Check back next week for another GameBattles Sports Arena Update!
