Pro Player Interview: Perfect uNo - Gears of War 2 for Xbox 360 (Xbox360) Forum

Predict: Hey Perfec7 uNo start off by introducing yourself.

PeRFec7 uNo: My name is Arron Lawrence, I am currently 17 years of age and I reside in The Bronx NYC

Predict: When, and why did you make your gamertag Perfec7 uNo?

PeRFec7 uNo: Well I came upon the name Perfect with my old name being Pr0DiiG3, and I was in need of a change. I figured since I always felt I was the best why not make my name perfect. It was shortly after that I decided to add something unique to my name and put uNo at the end, which in Latin means one. Hence the name perfect one, one without flaw.

Predict: So are you saying your game play is flawless, (laughs) what is one aspect you feel you or your team could work on to become that much more successful?

PeRFec7 uNo: More discipline. Me as well as my team have tremendous discipline but I personally feel that discipline wins Championships, which is definitely something I feel that me and my team can accomplish.

Predict: Seeded 6th before Meadows what did your team do to prepare for meadows, as well as become the first ever Gears of War 2 MLG Champs?!

PeRFec7 uNo: Well since we were the 6th seeded team starting in the champ bracket we usually scrimmed off host to prepare against the teams that had an edge of host advantage over us. We worked extremely hard and I feel every member of my team deserves this victory. Winning first place was definitely significant and a milestone for each and every one of us

Predict: Also I have heard you individually have been selected for the Old Spice Award Nomination, please describe this and tell us what it feels like to be nominated for something like this.

PeRFec7 uNo: The Old Spice Award is awarded to one person on each title game at each event. I won the first one for the first event. This award is very special and shows hard work and dedication. The winner of the final award by the end of the year receives $ 5,000. The feeling I got when I received this award was phenomenal. I woke up and Rey had contacted me over AIM and told me I was selected for this award and I was ecstatic.

Predict: On weekdays how many hours a day did your team average scrimming together post PCL prior to Meadowlands?

PeRFec7 uNo: Honestly we really didn't get to scrim as much as we liked but I would say once a day for about an hour or two, this being due to Fritzley and Ribs having a tough schedule to work around. There were a lot of days that we didn't even get to practice before this event.

Predict: I know there is some discussion about the lancer, your opinion?

PeRFec7 uNo: Yikes. Honestly I feel that the lancer will not solve the camping issue which is everyone’s main concern. People will still keep playing the way they play because it is their style of play. I feel that it is not fair to my team in general because my team is one of the very few teams who didn't just sit back and wait for stalemates. Personally I feel the way to solve camping is to add a Boomshot to a couple of maps for instance Security inside the outside laser will definitely prevent camping on such a small compact map.

Predict: Where would you love to see a MLG event this year?

PeRFec7 uNo: Orlando for sure, for the simple reason that it is such a great place to be. The atmosphere and environment is wonderful there, and would be a great experience for anyone who has never been there.

Predict: Describe your first time playing on main stage Compared to playing on Main stage against MbN in the championship match.

PeRFec7 uNo: My first time playing on main stage was amazing. At first I thought that it would be the most difficult thing to do with everyone screaming and all the fans cheering. Its actually a very calm state for me but yet so exciting because I get on there take a seat and put on my astro’s and all I see is my tv and my teammates and everything else is irrelevant. There is also this light there that is extremely bright but it also helps you focus because you cannot see the crowd unless you stand. Now to compare that to the Championship match, there is really nothing different for the simple fact that we had a 3-0 lead and I had confidence in my team to take home first place and bragging rights.

Predict: Thank you for your time good luck on another first place finish at Columbus.
