Just a simple poll as to see how many people think if this ladder is dieing or not.
I in a way do, in the way were not getting new teams since its already being dominated.

Season 2 is anyone's game. Most of Season 1 teams didn't even exist until like half way through the season.

I'm not sure but this game came out in November? I think most of the Season 1 t10 teams have all been here for a while.

and now all the top original teams on this ladder are either gone or are have joined into 3 teams

Okay. What point are you trying to make? I'm confused as to what the L4D release date has to do with season 2.

just because some teams fall apart or dont wanna play or arent on top anymore doesnt mean this ladder is dying.
with the dlc......they will come.....

The ladder does seem rather wonky but no, I don't think we're "dying".
Although, as competitive games age, they eventually peak and then start the decline. The bad news is less people are playing and generating the games competition, good news is less scrubs to deal with. By all means, L4D has not peaked.
We have more teams now then last I checked (about 1,000 more iirc), but how many of those are inactive, un ranked and dont' play anymore?

I think to help the ladder also is when you are in pubs openly tell players you're in GB. Tell them what it's about and tell them this is where the real fun begins in competition for L4D.

i would say yes. We are seeing a lot of top teams disbanding and having their members joining other top teams. What this is going to lead to is like 5 teams dominating the ladder. I think this is really stupid and it will make other people less likely to join the ladder. There has been quite a few teams recently that have been disbanding and having their members joining higher ranked teams. I WOULD SUGGEST NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN! Good players need to spread themselves around instead of taking the easy route and joining the top ranked teams. No offense to NIMBY and FP (we are buds) but you guys started a new trend for teams to just disband and have their members join higher ranked teams. We all can see what problems this will cause. This will lead to great competition between a few top teams, while all the other teams become cannon fodder ---> people not wanting to play L4D gamebattles = it dying

This should be taken under consideration by everyone here because i have seen it happen. It will make tons of new players not even wanting to play.

I think you said most of Season 1 teams didn't start till after the season was halfway over.

If the game came out in november then most season 1 top teams were there for most of the season.

It's not really a point. It's just an observation.

Come playoff time when the players on these teams want to be in the matches and have some "spotlight" they'll figure it out. I really don't think that having 10 starters on your team is good for anyone. The players on the team or for the rest of us that have to try and play 12312312312312 matches because they have 2-3 core squads on one team.

eventually these top teams will erode because not enough playing time and chemistry.... after my team had their ass kicked last season by top teams we have really learned a lot and have been giving really good teams tight challenges..... it is not that hard to get a good team together for l4d...after a while people will start understanding the best places to to spawn infected in this situation and how to handle the infected here etc..... I can see this ladder eventually having more consistent and good teams after a while but i doubt we will have a 100 good teams by the end of this season.. This game still has hope but its still ridiculous when you think about it... Its a shame when you see this game put next to multiplayer games like rainbow six and halo in xbox magazine. and its still not any where near going mlg

Well how about they practice like all of the good people and get better then make themselves good.

Good point Jcs. But I gotta say that if they want to win, of course they will join the higher ranked team. Playing to win means giving yourself the best chance at winning. It means playing top tier characters and using top tier strats, and in this case, joining a top tier team.

I'd be surprised (well, actually I don't think I would be for this ladder) if top teams disbanded and then players joined random low/unranked teams. I think this would cause power leveling and throw off the integrity of the ladder as a lower seeded team would have a high seed playing with them.
