connecting to internet problems - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for PlayStation 3 (PS3) Forum

im having a pain in the ass lately getting online... i get on the psn network fine but when i click the play online that stupid DOWNLOADING GAME SETTINGS screen just stays up for like 20 mins... then i give up and reset modem/playstation and the same stupid **** continues to happen... anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it

i haven't even seen this downloading game settings screen, I read about it in a different thread, but still haven't seen it. that sucks.

i log in sometimes fine then other times i cant log in for multiple hrs

ya im still having the same problem...i tried gettin on using my friends router and it still wont let me on. my friend came over and tried to help me as well and it still wont work even with different network settings. i kinda have a slight feeling that it might be the disc or somethin..

its also says **** like error 33 occasionally after i set it up...it really pisses u off

the wierd thing is..is that my roomate plays on my ps3 occassionally and i was able to sign under his name and play online on the same system??? anyone got an idea?

I had the same exact problem, i dont know if it will work for you guys, but i needed to download the Divx software when i registered (i dont know why), and i got on fine, but the last day i couldnt get on it would always say lobby closed or the settigns screen wouldnt go away. Well Divx jsut released a new update(that i ignored), now i cant get in, Well i jsut gave it a shot(updating the Divx) and now i got into a game almost instantly :D.

Hope its as simple as tht for you guys,
P.S make sure ur xbox is off for the udate or it wont work :P

I just brought a new wireless router and experienced the same problem but found out it was COD 4 having a problem with the VPN Passthrough settings on my router so i turn them off and now i have no problem logging on.
