Im a die-hard competitive gamer and im all about MLG !! This weekend is like my superbowl or world series. I watched all weekend and im glued to my laptop for 3 days staight. But i have a issue with the level of commentary skills . Lets start with halo 3.....Pucket is god and don't think he can ever be replaced. He's quotes are classic and he has me laughing the whole time !! Scott aka Gandhi brought exactly what halo 3 commentary needed. A pro player, with amazing knowledge of the game and a inside look and approach of all gametypes and strats !!! He brings so much to the table and i learn alot just from listen . Furok is like the new kid on the block and his comments are so basic but helps out the newer veiwers to the mlg mainstage !! Now gears 2 commentary ........bad !!! I dont know what it is ??? Pro gear matches are slow so the commenatry must be on point and exciting and its not !! I know its hard and not a easy to do but there is something missing . I love gears and play it more than halo 3 but i find myself watching halo 3 all day cause the commentary is so much better !! But there was a little wrench thrown into the ring last night !! cod 4 live broadcast was actually fun to watch !! Pucket along with 2 other guys made the matches interesting and enjoyabale !! So my question is............... whats the secret mix and why doesnt gears 2 have it ???

You don't like Unbreakable and C1oud?!?!?????!!???? (I'm an Unbreakable fanboy so my opinion is biased lol)
But seriously, Gears is a much slower paced game, so it's harder for Unbreakable and C1oud to keep talking about the game when there is literally a standstill for two minutes during a match. It's VERY difficult to commentate slow games (Rainbow is a prime example of this.) Both commentators have vast knowledge of the game and its players, it's just that the game is much slower to commentate and not as many big plays happen in Gears as they do in Halo. Also, the Gears stream doesn't have nearly as many resources as the Halo Stream, which makes it harder for them to pick players the viewers want to watch and try to make the game more exciting for the spectator audience.
Commentary isn't something that is easy to do, it's VERY VERY difficult on any game, its just that C1oud and Nate have the slower game to commentate.
P.S. Thanks for the shoutout last night Puckett on Domination Crash. You did great :]
Also, it's Faruq, not Furok.

Its not that i dont like them "Unbreakable and C1oud" and i understand how hard it is !! There commentary is good i guess. Its just not on-par with the halo 3 commentary. The points you make are very valid and i think there should be at least a set standard for broadcast equipement for all games !! gears, halo or call of duty. Either way im gonna enjoy all the streams this weekend. i just noticed that i really enjoyed the cod 4 commentary and there were 2 people talking that i never heard before yet they had me throughly entertained the whole series !!

Puckett and Gandhi do a good job of backing away on commenting to let us hear the players, I'm happy with the medium that they've found.

Almighty is like Elaine Benes over here with all these exclamation marks.
I don't really watch the Gears live stream much but it just seems like the guys aren't as into it as Puckett. I don't mean this as like they don't know what they're talking about but you can tell that they don't consider this as their job whereas Puckett pretty much gives it all he has to make his commentary as interesting, funny, and professional as possible.
Plus Puckett's one of the most charismatic people I've ever seen, so it's tough to top his commentary even if they were more "into it".
