While the MLG forums are down I thought I'd make this thread for people to talk about the CoD4 MLG Finals which will appear on the Halo 3 Stream at 11 PM EST or 8 PST.

Finals are to be commentated by Puckett and Lies. (I helped Puckett get ready to commentate prior to this event and XpL Exi1e helped out Lies, so they should be set.)

As of now Xtravagant Icons are in the Finals. More than likely they will face FeaR or EnVy Us. If they play FeaR the score is 0-0. If they play nV IXI is already up 3-0 from the WB.

So if anyone here wants to post up or talk about it, post away!

the MLG forums almost always go down at some point during event for the fact that so many people are on there site at once.

Also, Perception from EFX Rewritten (whose team is in the finals for Rainbow against MoB rage defending National Championships) just announced on his Twitter that the Rainbow Finals will be on the GoW2 Stream!!!!!!!!!!

Everytime there's an event all the forums lag up. MLG should probably look into fixing that further down the line, but whatever. Its awesome that Puckett is doing the commentary. Puckett confirming MW2 on the circuit makes me as giddy as a school girl. its pretty obvious that MLG has had it's part in making sure that MW2 will be competitive enough for the circuit.

yo, just a quick question about COD: MW. I played alot when it first came out but haven't played in a really long time and never played competitively. I was wondering what setups most of the Pro's playing in MLG use. What weapons are most common and most of all what perks are seen the most. Thanks.

My teaching for Puckett began here on SnD Crash all the way until Domination Strike, which is the next 5 maps.

Well. I love upsets and everyone picked FEAR or nV to win so I'm happy from that aspect, but if they really haven't been together long and are able to win a national title that kind of casts a negative shadow on Competitive CoD. MW2 is gonna be sick next year.

If you had any idea what you were talking about you would know in the basic setup for crash has a guy in top 3. If you have a 2-3 cap you can kill whore all you want. Everyone in that game was sound whoring and 90% of top teams and even semi-pro teams sound whore. Please stop talking because you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

Did i miss something about mw2, i was unaware of MW2 being officially picked up by MLG. If this is true it is great, but i do believe that MLG was testing out COD for live events. It seems that the "bleachers" were full, which is great news. I also think with Halo 3 being as old as it is, it will breath new life into MLG. This is all dependent on to MW2 franchise as well, with activision giving the other publisher (techra or something) off year rights to the call of duty name.

The biggest difference between halo franchise and the call of duty franchise is consistency on the part of bungie, they are constantly support their community with little bits of free iconic stuff here and there (waypoints is a great example), while cod is doesn't support the franchise as much. (dont get me wrong im not a fan boy of either)

So back to my original point MW2 has a GREAT opportunity to break through into the MLG and hold a spot directly next to HALO (even when halo reach comes out) if they support the community and energize its base. Due to the different FPS genre's that they both fulfill this could be a great match up for the xbox, the problem will come with the next Vietnam styled cod coming out next year. Will people still flock to that game or will they stay with the mightly MW2. (similar to the confilict with WaW and MW 1).

So based on the above, Will MW2 be on the circut (not talking about online), will MW2 stay on par after the release of halo reach, and what effect will the new activision call of duty have on the release of MW2? (not trying to flame here)

puckett did say that they would be fixing the picture in picture and player picture settings for mw2 so we can see more of the screen. So, this pretty much confirms that mw2 will be picked up on the pro circut. but no one knows if it will go to all events yet.

If MW2 takes away from the Halo 3 events/streams (which I don't see any reason why it would) I'd be upset, but from a few Puckett comments during the very boring match, it's pretty exciting knowing there's a new game about to be picked up. I just hope next year they don't compare it too much to CS because it's kind of insulting.

Halo and MW2 will be co-existing next year, even if MW2 is bigger, MLG will still baby Halo and not drop it.

i liked the commentary from last nights cod4 finals it reminded me of the cs days. felt like they were actually commentating the game and what was going on unlike halo where you just listen in all the time. though you get the odd input from gandhi which is usually good.
