Slavery is wrong; many us of have come to accept it as a fact. Darwinism may be natural selection, but truly exploiting a weaker, less intelligent man is outright cruel. That is what we as a nation had once shamefully done. Slaves were taken from their home, deprived of their freedom, looked at with indifference, worked well past the point of exhaustion, and lived impoverished lives. They were maliciously withheld of education, and killed for obtaining one. At that point we knew it was wrong, and for fear of change, and an honest days work, we casted away everything we knew was right. It took a civil war to rectify our shameful mistake. This is our penance, not for fear of God, but to restore our own honor and truly put a dark period of history behind us. Thank you for listening.

Do we stop to think that maybe slavery wasn’t started overnight; and that more than half of the world’s countries, have at some time participated in it? No, of course not; that would require actual thought which most aren’t ready to delve into yet.

The word is derived from ‘Slav’, white European men enslaved BEFORE the Middle Ages. The idea that African Americans were the first to be slaves is an insult to all who patented the idea before them.
The idea that some type of repayment must be issued because someone with a capitalist mindset (modern term) decided to participate in the widely excepted and condoned activity of the past is absurd. Shall we then, continuing this infantile mindset, count a woman’s vote twice because they were deprived of that right until 1919? Or maybe we should dish out money to liquor companies who had to shut down after the 18th amendment. Our bad…
