So anybody else do muay thai and/or jiu-jitsu?
Maybe kickboxing and wrestling?
Possibly just boxing?

MMA is losing its appeal tot he american public and boxing is on the comebock.
An average boxer > an MMA fighter as long as they keep there distance and stay on there feet.

I dunna, they get a good leg kick in and then they probably have their opening (or if they get any good kick in tbh). If it's a mma fight then it goes to the ground and bang, but standup the thai boxer would probably just drop tons of leg kicks until the boxer couldn't move too quick :p

Boxers use cushioned gloves that still hurt but deal nothing caompared to the 3 ounce gloves MMA use for keeping there knuckles from breaking.
No way shape or form boxers are greater. And how are u gonna keep ur distance in a combat sport?

Lmfao I would pay to see a boxer fight an Aikido black belt. Aikido is a version of Jiu Jitsu btw. A good MMA fighter would tear the hell out of a boxer. Distance isn't easy to keep in a fight plus boxers simply punch. A good MMA fighter can attack you from pretty much any angle with next to any part of their body. Guess fighting is just another thing that Bill doesn't know anything about. Personally I do Capoeira. I like the flow better.

If you are seriously saying boxing is on the come back, you are a lmoron. MMA is becoming one of the fastest growing sports in the US, just look at the Couture vs Lesnar fight rating.
I was going to train at a gym, hoping to learn BJJ. However the person who was going to train me, Jason Ireland, has an actual job that he must invest time in. Besides a few one on one sessions in BJJ, I haven't really had full training. I wish I could find a gym around where I live.

Get a job and pay for the classes yourself, it's what I did and then my parents saw how much of a workout and how dedicated I was and finally decided to foot the bill :p
Of course I did this over the summer when I could have a full-time job... So, their decision was also based upon the fact that I wouldn't be able to generate the income to pay for the membership... I dunna, just keep trying to get your parents to agree if you really wanna start taking classes :D

a) the only place that would accept me is Mc****s so no in that category
b)my parents wouldnt care how much of a workout id get seeing as i already have 4soccer practices/week and a game on the weekends so i know its not gonna happen, it'd just be nice if i knew how
c)even if i did pay my parents would still have to drive me to and from

Yeah a good grappler will pretty much always whip a kickboxer's ass. A good grappler is trained to take a few shots to get a hold of his opponent and make them pay.
