Simple. Marriage should not be a government institution. Have civil unions for both *** and straight couples via the government, proving benefits to each. Then churchs can do their own thing with marriages.

If you are in the military, if youare married,then you get to go home sometimes for holidays, or you don't get the ****y shifts. Unmarried men and women still have families and friends. Why should being married give you something extra. You married them because you love them, not because you want special benifits.

i wouldn't mind that either, but many people believe these benefits are needed. I see no reason anyone could reason that the term "marriage" is needed from the government.

Thats the whole thing they CAN'T "marry". When you get married the preist(or whoever marries you) reads out of a bible. The Bible says that people can't be ***. Therefore *** people shouldn't be married. They should call it something else. Muslims call it something else and they do a muslim marriage.

You guys are so ******ed. They aren's asking for churches to authorize this. They are simply asking for the government to legal marry them so that god forbid something happens to one person, their partner can collect money off the life insurance. The downside of this is that it causes insurance companies a lot more money which is why many people don't want it, not because it is "immoral".
