Problem with Text SIGS!! HELP!!!!

Hey when yur making text sigs, how do u get the whit ebackground away?? for excample this

If you are using Photoshop, click the Magic Wand tool and click the background, then hit the delete button on your keyboard.

if you're using gimp, when you start the sig off, when you choose the size, there should be a spot saying white/black background, and one for transparent; click transparent, if you have a checkerboard background, you did it right... and save it under .png
