it costs like an extra $3 a fill up. and i'm sure you have higher than 91 octane in ny, you use the highest octane you can get at the pump. 92 or 93.

its not really that much extra per fill up....also..i cant find the article right now but higher octane gas is not really required on any car that is newer then about a 95....the difference in HP is about 2%(for a car with 200HP thats 4 HP), the car may run a small amount smoother and manufacturers may advice you to use the good stuff but cars can run fine on lower octane fuel.

that's true for n/a cars. when you have a turbo or supercharger though, you must run premium gas for the turbo's/sc's sake.

My Laser DID NOT RUN on 89oct. Use the best gas you can get. 92 93 or 94 Sunoco gas.

idk, how high the compression ratio is but the higher means higher octane

what are you talking about..?

yes high compression motors need race gas(13:1 or higher)

but a dsm is a low compression that needs something like 91 or higher to prevent detonation

dude you can use regular gas depending on the compression you have.
technically you're car in my opinion would run fine on regular. once you start tuning then premium

wrong. you can't run regular 89 on a car with f/i.

I really don't know the compression for a DSM
