No lift Shift

I don't have this tuned on my car, but I still do it anyways.

It is when you don't lift you foot off of the gas when you press the clutch in to shift.

You can get a tune so when you do that, the rpm's go down anywhere from 100-500 less. For example if you shift a 8800, no lift ****, your rpm's will drop to lets say 8400, making you shift faster and still maintaining boost.

I did it today by my friends in their suv, they said the biggest flame shot out they ever saw. I'm gonna get it tuned legit when I got to sean ivey.

It's big with the sti's do you guys know anyone who has it? Sounds sick right?

Wouldnt that be a good way to strip your clutch? Or grind down on the motor/engine? Thats gotta cause some wear and tear dont you think.

it won't hurt the car if it is programmed into the ecu. i'm pretty sure it sets up a rev limiter where you want it so when you push in the clutch and gas, it'll go to those rpm's and you can shift.

Yea you deffinately have to have it programmed into your ECU which most companies have in there programs already(Hondata, Neptune, DsmLink, Aem, Utec, etc..) you don't just get it TUNED

And I know with Hondata, Neptune, and dsmlink you can just plug your laptop in and set it up yourself

For somebody with a 500awhp evo you don't seem very intelligent as either you are lying or a rich kid that doesn't know **** because as of right now when you shift like that and no lift to shift isn't setup you are bouncing it off your rev limiter as your ecu program does not know what to do as it isn't setup

you dont need it tuned. its just a setting. and yes youll be adding more stress on your drivetrain when doing it. do you have aem?

When I say tuned I mean programmed into your ecu. I have a taxtrix cable, all i've done was pull logs for my car for when supposedly dynoflash told me my knock sensor was ****ing up and making me loose power. I would look into seeing if my taxtrix cable + software can do it, but saturday I'm going to ivey to get it tuned for c16 and a few other goodies.

Anyone have a aem air/fuel ratio gauge they wanna sell?

But on topic, if your running 501 awhp at 33psi on 93 octane it seems your engine will not last long or you like pushing it way over the edge, especially with no wideband looking for lean spots( even though the sample rate is not that quick)......Im sure i missed somthing like methonal injection or somthing to allow for this high of pressure on pump, but if not, i would be careful.

Also, the AEM Uego wideband I would not recommend if you plan on running alot of leaded gas (c16). The Bosch sensor is not to resistant to the lead......If you can afford it, get the FJO wideband with the NTK sensor. I wish i had, I have replaced two Bosch sensors already. Sucks...

I completly believe you and i sware its just my luck....I have heard of very similar situations where the bosch sensor does great gallon after gallon of leaded gas with no problems whatsoever...But then for some reason the next bosch sensor installed will only last 5 gallons, more or less then fail. It seems to be just inconsistent (i have no idea why) where the NTK seems to be more stable.... I have gone through a two already unfortunatly.

The pictures with multiple girls are from my sisters camera which I uploaded on photobucket to show cooley. The girls by themselves are from them sending them to me. I take them off my computer and store them there. I don't leave them saved on my pc because if my sister found them she would hate me because she is friends with them.

It's a joke between me and that kid, I failed the first time I went for my driving test because I rolled threw a stop sign. Every time he get's the chance he will always say did you get your license like pass and **** because he knows how mad it makes me.

I already explained why he asks that. I am getting a winter beater, I'm not driving the evo in snow. I told him how I might be getting a f-250 and he said about gas and said to get a jetta because they get 30mpg and you can have fun with them.

My motor isn't a Honda and can handle 500hp and 33psi on stock block. I've said in earlier threads I really don't care if I blow my motor. If I do, a built 2.0 will be going in over the winter with borrowed money from my grandfather. I'm wealthy but not loaded,my family has money, but they only co-signed for the evo and they pay for my insurance. I have nothing else to prove to anyone.

My friend jordan was with me when I failed my license for the first time. Im not sure why this is hard to understand. It is irrelevant whether its a Honda, Mitsu, Toyota, or whatever you want....

It does not matter if you build it with Carillo rods and CP pistons and its capable of 1400 whp.

Its a matter of Fuel octane and put simply, 93 octane cannot support 33psi without severe detonation and basic piston meltdown. (im sure there have been rare exceptions, but i do not think this is the case)

Also, I dont claim to know about the 4g engine to any degree........But, if you truly are running 33 psi and only making 500 whp, it shows that your ECU is pulling out alot of timing because of severe detonation which would explain the lower (than to be expected) HP numbers at such a high boost level.

Im not trying to pick on your car or story, but can you see what im getting at ?
